Wolverine Capital Partners is a distinctive, confidential private investment firm. We invest growth equity capital in very select
companies, for the long-term, in partnership with established management
teams. Our proven approach is very different from virtually all other potential
buyers for four primary reasons:
Long-Term Ownership – Wolverine Capital Partners has the
rare flexibility to provide stable ownership of the business as an independent
entity indefinitely. Simply put, we invest for the long run and have never sold a company we own. Private equity funds typically have large bureaucratic
institutions as their investors for a limited period, which forces the
relatively quick re-sale of the business in 2-5 years. Strategic buyers
are often competitors of the business and they typically sever the legacy
of the business by resorting to significant cost-cutting, reductions, and
eliminations. We are uniquely positioned in our ability to enable a business
to continue as an independent company, with its strong history, heritage,
and legacy intact for the ongoing benefit of the management team, employees,
and community.
Partners with Management – we prefer to partner with established management
teams and structure compelling incentives so we are collectively aligned
and motivated to share in the success of the company. We encourage management
to personally invest in the business alongside Wolverine Capital Partners.
Additionally, we firmly believe in paying for performance and establish
long-term equity incentive programs to reward management. We want to work
together to grow the business and increase sustainable shareholder value,
that empowers management to achieve their personal financial goals and
aspirations.
Selectivity – we invest our own capital and are ultra selective in making
our growth equity capital investment decisions. Given our firm’s strategic
approach, we are deeply committed to focusing our attention and resources
to close the transaction on a timely basis and work hard to make the business
successful going forward.
