Background/Situation: Burkland (www.burklandinc.com) is a world-class producer of precision manufactured metal products and assemblies for automotive, consumer, heavy truck, industrial, and military applications.  The manufacturing capabilities at Burkland are fine blanking, orbital forging,  and precision machining & assembly.  These processes were developed in the heritage of precision mechanical watch making and traditions of exceptional quality and customer service.

Our Role and Results: The owners of Burkland determined that Burkland was not core to their other businesses and wanted to divest Burkland very quickly and reinvest the proceeds into their other businesses.  The principals of Wolverine Capital were able to structure and submit an offer very quickly and close in a matter of weeks.  Wolverine Capital invested in partnership with the management team of Burkland and this team has achieved the following objectives:

• Seamless transition of ownership from a customer, vendor, and employee perspective
• Record closing time from signing letter of intent to closing
• Successfully launched three new products and assemblies for a new customer that is exported to Europe and Mexico
• Launched a new complementary high volume product with an existing customer
• Dramatically increased revenues by over 80%
